About Woodfield

Woodfield is a Heritage Conservation District east of downtown, bounded roughly by Central Avenue, Adelaide Street, Dundas Street, and Waterloo Street. It’s one of Canada’s largest heritage neighbourhoods and one of the most architecturally significant residential districts in London.

The housing stock is almost entirely late-Victorian and Edwardian — grand three-storey singles, painted-lady semis, and elegant coach houses along Grosvenor, Central, Princess, and Colborne Streets. Many have been meticulously restored; a handful are still awaiting the right owner. The city’s HCD designation means exterior renovations are reviewed for heritage compatibility, which protects property values but does mean prospective buyers should factor in maintenance realities of homes built in the 1880s–1910s.

Woodfield is walkable to downtown, Victoria Park, and Richmond Row. Residents talk about it as one of the most tight-knit neighbourhoods in the city — the Woodfield Community Association hosts an annual home tour that regularly draws visitors from across Southwestern Ontario.
